Workflow & Setup
- Place the LP5 on a stable, level workbench and connect the UK power supply and exhaust system.
- Connect to your PC or Mac and launch your preferred software (LightBurn or Arpro Studio).
- Place your material on the bed. If using the rotary tool, plug it into the expansion port and secure your cylindrical item.
- Select your material profile to automatically engage either the fibre (metal) or diode (wood/organic) laser.
- Use the dual red-light preview to perfectly align your design.
- Put on the provided safety goggles, close the enclosure, and press start.

I was comparing this to an xTool setup, but having both fibre and diode in one machine won me over. The 20W fibre marks stainless steel tools effortlessly. Next-day delivery from their UK warehouse was a nice bonus.
We use the LP5 for marking medical-grade stainless steel instruments. The precision of the 1064nm infrared laser is outstanding, and the software is very intuitive.
The engraving quality is flawless on both wood and metal. My only minor gripe is that the optional air purifier is a bit loud on its highest setting, but it definitely clears the smoke efficiently.
Perfect for my side hustle! I use it primarily as a laser engraver for wood and slate coasters, but having the ability to do custom metal hip flasks for weddings has doubled my orders.
There is a slight learning curve if you've never used LightBurn before, especially when switching between the two laser sources. However, once you get your settings dialed in, the results are commercial-grade.
